Is it rude to wear a hat in a restaurant. The crux of the argument as you can see is that a hat is perfectly inoffensive. Please dont be that guy. In fact it probably began with medieval knights.
I guess exceptions for ballparks picnics etc. Your comfort hat may be acceptable in a coffeehouse diner or other casual setting but if youre going out to a more formal dinner you should leave it at home the same way you should change out of your sweatpants. What is your opinion as to when - if ever - it is appropriate for a man to wear a hat while eating in a restaurant.
